Nimble

A poem about courage

Flying through the sea, by Maria Grace, H20 Beings on Pinterest.

Imagine you
In your tiara
Trying it out
Thinking it’s funny
Liking the spectacle.
Courage in your hand
Down your throat
Slammed on the table.

Imagine you
Standing on a hill
Next to the knife's edge
Tasting the horizon
Facing your Northern star,
You point to your pen
You push against the wall
And dare yourself to move a plan.

Imagine the distance shrinking
Between you and a friend
You can hear their whispers echo
You can fly”
You can fly
-So you take to your wings,
The ones you recently won
But were reluctant to use
And you consider for a moment
Jumping off your pivot
Into a perfect glide,
Free floating like a mermaid
Across the sky.
