Faking the day well again, working again, while eating my heart
Working up a storm so that it won't break again, my sloppy heart

This evening, while you were out working, I watched a film alone
I noticed how the Lovers kissed and felt a knife in heart

Romcons make me hiss, romance so prescribed, yet I am still hooked
The rope hangs low, swinging slow, over matters heart

Designed to use well and make us dissatisfied with our lives
Fill our heads with nonsense, float insecurities across landscape heart

The Actors on-screen kiss so well, the close-up makes jealousy
Measuring and comparing as we go, the quality of vanities heart

The date is so overrated and the dinner is a letdown
Yet something keeps us lingering for that fatal tingly heart

So we string a sentence together down a slippery slope
Reinvent the wheel or something close to heart
