Short Poem

There is a vast notion
rooted in the desert air,
that heat comes from feeling
to scorch the pretty.

It tornados through flesh
the way feeling ought,
void of moving forward
— with one’s senses intact.

MICRO POETRY

Self-harm

Photo by Fuu J on Unsplash

Shaped in a loose substance
Flesh hangs from branches
— Arms brittle with middle days
Passing without knowing.

Creeping… past frosting eyes
A heavyweight lurking
— Food is a deadly weapon
Eating is dressed for losing.
